Right off the starting line, Road Trip matches action with depth, allowing you to customize your ride for over 100 different events. Wins earn cash, which you use to buy parts and upgrade your vehicles. From engines to brakes, body types to paint jobs, the parts store stocks over 250 interchangeable components. Top that with 20 mini-games, special missions and dozens of hidden surprises and you don't just have a racing adventure - you've got a road trip!

Storyline

The game starts off with the President expressing his desire to retire as president to his secretary. He says that whoever wins the World Grand Prix will get the chance to challenge him and take the presidency for themselves. The game then switches to a scene where the player is in the Q's Factory and is being informed by the Q's factory truck of the World Grand Prix. The player then starts with one of six bodies at random; a light green 1979 Mazda RX-7, a blue 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R, a silver 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing, a red 1989 Alfa Romeo SZ, a bright yellow 1957 Fiat 500, or an orange 1996 Honda S-MX. The player starts with Normal parts, 1000 of the game's currency, and a C License. Next, the player is left to do whatever they choose, whether that be to race and or help other denizens in this sandbox world.
